Beautiful Weather For this....

It has been such beautiful weather around here lately, that I decided to wash the pool for Candace. She has fun in the pool, but I can't wait until we can go to the beach and have some real fun. In the meantime, Candace can have fun in her pool.

This pool used be Jasmine's. I got for Jasmine when she was 3yrs old. So I have had for all 3 kids to enjoy. I can't believe I have had for so long and it has lasted. I lost the plug for it though. SO we use a dishcloth to keep the water in(LOL).

Water Fun!!

I was outside playing with Candace today. We were playing with the hose. As you can see Candace got soaked and i got a little bit wet. Candace had a lot of fun playing so much

that she tired herself so much that she fell asleep around 7:45p.m.

It's nice when they fall asleep early.

Camping Tips

Camping with children can bring you back to the simplicity of nature. It increases your awareness of your surroundings and can refresh your appreciation for the many things that so often go unnoticed. Many things are learned and experienced for the first time during each day in the life of a child. Patience is almost unavoidable. It is so important to take the time to enjoy the journey of these new experiences with your child. In nature there are so many amazing things to discover. Camping can be a wonderful adventure. Just think--the birds and animals, the plants and trees, the rocks, the streams and ponds, the insects, the sounds, the weather, the wildflowers, and the many activities that can provide so much excitement. The possibilities are endless! By planning successful, enjoyable camping trips when your children are young, you will set them on the path to a lifetime of outdoor adventures.

**Get the kids interested in the trip by getting them involved. Build their excitement and anticipation.

Plan the camping trip together

Decide on places to go - consider interests, outdoor experience and children's ages.

Pick activities to do

Plan and shop for your meals

Prepare and pack the equipment and supplies

Try a backyard campout before you go for the first time

Teach the kids how to set up a tent

Try some outdoor cooking

Experience a night outdoors in sleeping bags

Show them how to use some camping equipment

Plan a few activities

Search the sky for constellations

Listen to the many night sounds

Don't forget the special nighttime snacks

Try to experience outdoor activities with your kids

Get them familiar with the outdoors in order to eliminate their fears

Teach them about safety and to respect nature

Teach outdoor skills and outdoor ethics

Camp chores are actually fun for kids. They love collecting firewood, filling water containers, hammering in tent stacks, camp cooking etc.

Make the camp chores extra fun -- have contests for gathering the most kindling, best camp cooking, most organized gear, fastest clean-up etc.

Take a small day hike in the woods at a local park

Visit a nature center

Go fishing at a local pond or stream

Take an evening walk

Go on a picnic

Read related books

Have a scavenger hunt

Go on a flashlight walk

**Take the necessary gear and supplies

Extra clothing and shoes--the kids will get wet and extremely dirty

Warm clothing--it may get chilly especially in the evening/dress in layers

Insect repellent--consider time-release formulas

Sunscreen--they'll be outside all day

First aid kit--for those little accidents

Rain gear--keep them dry and warm

Toys, games, activities--you want to keep them busy

Check out Want to Play a Game?

Familiar bedtime items--pillows, blankets, stuffed animals, dolls etc

Flashlight/glow sticks--to help relieve nighttime fears

Snacks--all this activity is going to make them hungry

Drinks--avoid dehydration due to heat and activity level

**Create memories

Bring a camera with plenty of film/flash/extra batteries

Disposable type are excellent for outdoor activities

Give each child their own disposable camera

Keep a journal

Describe details about your trip and the activities you did

Document special moments

Include photos

Have each family member write about their experience

Save crafts etc.

Keeping an Outdoor Adventure Photo Journal

**Plan alternative activities

For bad weather

To avoid boredom during down times

If they dislike a certain planned activity

**Respect campground quiet hours

**Make your travel fun

Don't travel a great distance--stop frequently

Make your trips short -- maybe two or three nights

Take toys and activities to keep them busy

Play car games--license plates, sign abc's, singing etc

Take plenty of snacks

Build their excitement and anticipation

Bubble Time

Bought Candace some bubbles today and she is so happy right now blowing bubbles. While I am writing this she is fun blowing bubbles.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is too Cute

Candace is fully potty trained. Everytime candace needs to pee, she says "Oh Oh, I think I'm going pee!". It's so cute. She is fully night-trained too. She has had only 4 accidents. Which I think is great. One time she had to go pee during the night and she went pee ont the toilet. I am so proud.. She had problems with potty-training that I am so excited that she hasn't had an accident in her underwear.

Happy Mother's Day

A couple of jokes for Mother's Day

When Johnny had a new sister, he became envious of the attention she was getting. One day while his mother was nursing the baby, Johnny was getting unyielding about being on mom's lap. Mom wasn't able to deal with both children at that time and told Johnny to go wait for her. He then asked his mom: "Mommy, can you please put Clara back in your tummy now?"

After putting her children to bed, a mother changed into old slacks and a worn out blouse and proceeded to wash her hair. As she heard the children getting more and more rambunctious, her tolerance grew thin. At last she put a towel around her head and stormed into their room, putting them back to bed with severe warnings. While leaving the room, she overheard her three-year-old say with a shaky voice, "Who was 'that'?"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A Poem on Mother's Day

Mothers and Daughters

We're daughters and mothers
Not so long ago.
We give and take
And take and give
Along time's endless row.
Love is passed
And love received
To be passed on again:
A precious heirloom
Twice, twice blessed,
A spiritual cardigan.

I'll put it on
And treasure it,
The me I have received,
And when the roles
Reverse again,
I'll have what I most need.

So may our love
Go on and on,
A hundred thousand years;
Mothers and daughters,
Daughters and mothers,
Through joys and other tears.

Never Alone

Subject: Never Alone - What a blessing to know

Do you know the legend of the Cherokee Indian youth's rite of passage?
His dad takes him into the forest..., blindfolded..., and leaves him...
Alone. He is required to sit on a stump the whole night..., and not
take off the blindfold until the ray of sun shines through it.

He is all by himself.

He cannot cry out for help to anyone. Once he survives the night, he
is a MAN. He cannot tell the other boys of this experience. Each lad
must come into his own manhood.

The boy was terrified..., could hear all kinds of noise. Beasts were
all around him. Maybe even some human would hurt him. The wind blew
the grass and earth. And it shook his stump. But, he sat stoically,
never removing the blindfold. It would be the only way he could be a man.

Finally, after a horrific night, the sun appeared and he removed his
blindfold. It was then that he saw his father, sitting on the stump next
to him...., at watch..., the entire night.

We are never alone. Even when we do not know it, our Father is
protecting us. He is sitting on the stump beside us.

All we have to do is reach out to Him.

Immuziation Shot for Candace

So Yesterday was Candace's immuziation shot for Kindergarden. Well we were waiting for the bus, I told Candace that we were going to the hospital to get her immunization shot. She didn't like that. She was a little bit scared because she had her surgery. I comforted her and told her that she didn't have to be scared and that she was just going there to get a shot so she can go to Kindergarden. She was such a brave little girl. When the shot came around I held her and she said "OW" with a little cry. She didn't cry for very long, it was just kind of a whimper. Here are some pictures of Candace.

WOW!!!

WELLINGTON, New Zealand - A plucky foot-high Jack Russell terrier named George saved five New Zealand children from two marauding pit bulls, but was so severely mauled in the fight he had to be destroyed, his owner said Wednesday.

George was playing with the group of children as they returned home from buying sweets at a neighborhood shop in the small North Island town of Manaia last Sunday when the two pit bulls appeared and lunged toward them, his owner, Allan Gay, said.

"George was brave — he took them on, and he's not even a foot high," Gay told The Associated Press. "He jumped in on them, he tried to keep them off.

"If it wasn't for George, those kids would have copped it."

One of the children, Richard Rosewarne, 11, was quoted in the Taranaki Daily News on Wednesday as saying George fought with the pit bulls to keep them off his 4-year-old brother, Darryl.

"George tried to protect us by barking and rushing at them, but they started to bite him — one on the head and the other on the back," Rosewarne said. "We ran off crying, and some people saw what was happening and rescued George."

But George, aged 9, was so badly mauled that a veterinarian had to put him down, Gay said.

"The two pit bulls ripped the skin from his throat and chest and down his back," he said, adding the tough little terrier also "had a bad heart condition."

Gay said the pit bulls' owner had surrendered the pair to dog control officers and demanded they be destroyed, claiming they had launched unprovoked attacks previously.

P.S. What is with Pitbulls and attacking? Is it the owners who make them this way, or are they just like that?

I WAS INERVIEWED AGAIN

1. How did you discover blogging?
My cousin Lisa got me into blogging. I check in on her blog every now and then

2. What is your dream job?
That is a tough one. I think it would be between 3 jobs. Teacher, doctor, or medical assistant.
3.Would you rather live the rest of your life at the ocean or on a
mountain? Ocean
Why? I love the smell of the ocean. I also like to go swimming in the ocean. It is much warmer by the ocean than it is on the mountains.

4. What is your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory would have to be spending time with my dad. He would My sister camping. Camping with dad was so much fun. He would take us up to the MT. Washington to go skiing. He would also take us to Mission to visit our relatives. So, I would have to say my favorite childhood memory is spending time with my dad.

5. What is your worst habit?
My worst habit is chewing my nails. I am getting better. I can get them to grow but sometimes when they get too long a chew on them.

I WAS INTERVIEWED

1. If you had to listen to 3 songs for the rest of your life what would they be?
That is a hard one. I think the three would have to be "Paint" by Roxette, "Someday" by Nickelback, and " The Final Countdown" by Europe.

2. If you never married and had children what is one thing you would have liked to do with your life? I would have liked to go to College and I would probably have either be a teacher or a medical Assistant.

3. What would you do if you won the lotto?
I would buy a house, a new wardrobe for my entire family, put some money away for my kids to go to college. Then I think I would travel. I would like to take my kids to Disneyland, and i have always wanted to go on a cruise. I would probably give some money to the Variety Club since they help disable kids.

4. What don’t you like about blogging?
I don't get as many people to comment as I would like. Another thing I don't like is sometimes I can't think of anything to talk about.

5. Favorite comfort food is?
I would have to my favorite comfort is Italian Food. I really like spaghetti and Lasagna.

To participate: (Rules)1. Leave me a comment saying, “Interview me.”

2. I will respond by emailing you five questions of my choice.

3. Then, you should update your blog with the answers to the questions.

4. You have to include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.

5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you get to ask them five questions
